Arbor Day Tree Giveaway
Hawaiian Electric Company and its partners will give away 2,600 trees and shrubs on Saturday, November 7. Due to popular demand, one-third of the plants that are being given away are fruit trees.
Certified arborists and volunteers from Hawaiian Electric, Kaulunani Urban and Community Forestry Program, Urban Garden Center, Wahiawa Botanical Garden, and Waimea Valley will be on hand to assist you in selecting the plant best suited to your needs, whether it’s a patio plant, a flowering shrub, a fruit tree, or a shade tree. You will also receive information to help you to properly site, plant, and care for your tree.

Hoakalei Cultural Foundation
Ewa Beach Arbor Day Tree Giveaway
The Hoakalei Cultural Foundation will conduct its 3rd annual tree giveaway at the Keone`ula Elementary School in Ewa Beach, on Saturday, November 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Three hundred native white hibiscus plants, koki‘o ke ‘oke‘o (Hibiscus arnottianus), will be given away, one plant per household.
Native Pathfinders staff will be on hand to answer attendees’ questions about how to plant and care for their hibiscus.
Leeward Community College
Family Fun Fair
Leeward Community College is hosting its 19th annual Family Fun Fair at its campus in Pearl City, on Saturday, November 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In honor of Arbor Day 300 pakalana plants will be given away. Native plants will also be on sale, including hybrid hibiscus and lei plants.
